Nok Air Launches Inaugural Udon Thani-Ubon Ratchathani Flight

Bangkok, (17 January 2018) – Nok Air, Thailand’s carrier become the first airline to offer a direct commercial air link between Udon Thani and Ubon Ratchathani from today onwards. The inaugural flight DD9011 departed from Udon Thani International Airport at 11.05 hrs. and arrived at Ubon Ratchathani International Airport at 12.05 hrs.

The inaugural flight event was attended by Mr. Watana Puttichat, Governor of Udon Thani and Miss Charaspan Srisawadi, Vice President of Branding, Nok Airlines. Nok Air deploys a Bombardier Q400 turboprop with 86 seats on the route, with three flights a week, represents the airline's move to tap inter-provincial air traffic demand. The cities are two of the largest in the Northeast and connection hubs to Laos and Cambodia.

Mr. Piya Yodmani, Nok Air’s Chief Executive Officer, said “We see the demand and potential in Udon Thani and Ubon Ratchathani destinations - we believe that our service will accommodate the travel needs and benefit passengers in the Northeast region to conveniently travel between the cities. Not only do we focus on growing our network with route expansion, but also continue to enhance our products and services to meet the needs of all of our flying passengers.”

With the new Udon Thani-Ubon Ratchathani connection, the airline will be flying to 25 domestic destinations total.
