Start your journey by paying merit to Phra Buddha Chinnarat at Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahatat (Wat Yai), the most respectable temple in town, and then go sightseeing at Chom Nan Chaloem Phrakiat National Park, Chao Phae Museum, Clock Tower, Chao Phraya Chakri Monument, Ekathosarot Bridge, gallows, town’s gutter, Wat Vihara Thong, the Shrine of King Naresuan (Chan Palace), the City Pillar Shrine, Wat Yai and Sgt. Maj. Dr. Thavi Folklore Museum where the Thai folk wisdom and intellect are mostly collected. Traveling around town with tricycle taxi is recommended since you can appreciate the town at sunset fully. You can also experience the nature sight at Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park where you can do the rafting along Kheg River and appreciate the stunning scenery.

Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat

Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat is also locally known as "Wat Yai". It is a first class royal temple and is famous for its gold sculpture of the Buddha, known as Phra Phuttha Chinnarat. Thais consider it to be the most beautiful Buddha inThailand, nicknamed by the locals as“Luang Por Yai”. The temple houses many ancient artifacts including a museum. The temple is open between 06.30 am - 06.00 pm, while the museum is open from 08.30 am - 04.30 pm.

The Baan Rom Klao Botanical Garden under the Royal Patronage is the center for plant breeds from the lower north region and for local plant breed preservation. It offers an opportunity for eco-tourism, with camping tents,bird-watching spots and magnificent viewpoints.

The Chan Palace

The Chan Palace is located next to the King Naresuan Camp. It currently serves as the location for King Naresuan Court and was formerly the Phitsanulok Pittayakom School. It houses a life size statue of the King Naresuan.
