Wat Phra That Phanom

The Phra That Phanom pagoda is a landmark of the province, while the 7 birthday-related pagodas and other temples unite the Nakhon Phanom people and draw in tourists. There is the old belief that paying respects to the pagodas would bring auspiciousness, because respecting the pagodas (called Phra That) which carry the relics of Buddha will bring hapiness and fortune, while also being a form of meritmaking.

Baan Lung Ho’s Museum (Baan Na Jok)

This is an ancient village which once accommodated the former president of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The village is peacefully shaded with lush, green trees. Inside the house is mock-up of “Uncle Ho’s” quarters, along with various equipments used in the past. Pictures telling the biography of President Ho Chi Minh maintain the past atmosphere when Uncle Ho had once resided in the house.

Cruise along Mekong River

The provincial authorities of Nakhon Phanom has organized a boat ride along the Mekong River at 5pm daily, with the journey starting from the pier at the Indochina market. Ticket prices are 50 baht for adults, and 20 for children.
